H. Burrows
Biografische gegevens:

Dear Doug,
A few lines wishing you all the best for — many thanks for balls & ties received safe.
I will enclose a piece from Golf Illustrated re Belg. Alliance — isn't it possible that you tipped a copy & sent it to the Corinthian, & also to the Netherlands Golf Committee explaining what has been done there with only 6 clubs. Or perhaps you could write to the Belg. Sec. asking him if he could give you information as to what lines they are running & perhaps we could arrange a game with them in Antwerp or Brussels.
I think we are much stronger than they are as a team & perhaps with them the N.G.C. I mean, seeing what has been done there we might get some help from them, it's only suggestions on my part.
Have you heard from Del Court, or from Lambert anything that was talked about during the game with the amateurs? I have sent your letter to Mr. Smith on to him.
Now Doug, let me know what you think of my suggestions & what you intend to do. Also don't forget to collect the subscriptions in good time so that you can get some cash in hand. But I am sure we must get an Alliance also.
Now all the best,
Yours Sincerely,
H. Burrows

Dear Doug,
In answer to yours of 22nd, so sorry to hear you are not up to much & hope you are allright now. I have had a few days in bed myself this week with a touch of the flue, but I'm feeling better again now. I'm pleased you have heard from the N.G.C. at last, but of course they have no right to run our association, but they recognize it, & that's all we want for that. I can't understand that no mention is made of an alliance, it's a misunderstanding somewhere, but if I were you I should write & ask if they will cooperate with us in forming an alliance. I have spoken to a lot of people about it & all are strongly in favour of it.
I will try & get hold of Mr. Smith & see what I can do with him, but of course the best thing would be to buy a medal to start with for the closed championship. The Belgium Open there is no cup. & for about £2 or 2.10 we could get a decent medal. Anyhow we must have a meeting but I could not come on Mon. Wed. or Fri. But we ought to try & get together early, have you got all the subs, in yet.
Dear Doug, I have wanted to see Mr. Smith but he is out.

Dear Doug,
In answer to yours dated 14th re closed championship, I quite agree to what you have suggested, but if Mr Del Court doesn't agree, what then?
As to subscription list I haven't shown mine to anyone yet as I think ours should be headed by Mr. Smith & as he is away till the end of the month. I thought it better to wait till I see him, let me know what you want, that I return the list at once or wait for him?
As for Mr. Janson [W.G. Janssen], I thought all these lists were sent to the Pros to put up in their shops, but he must know what to do, but I personally will never go there again on those conditions. Let me know if you hear anything from Mr. Del Court.
With kind regards,
Yours Faithfully,
H. Burrows
