Maille au Grand Coup. C. 1625

A mixed match of Mail au Grand Coup on the Maliebaen of Den Haag.

A lady approaching the mid-point of the mall, addresses her ball, her stance and grip simular to that of the Winter King, portrayed on the same mall a year or so later. She is watched by her playing companions, a young man (probably the professional or 'parlemardier') and two other women, one of whom is holding a 'boule' in her left hand, perhaps retrieved from out-of-bounds.
